Founded in 1997, Lion Gri is one of the most important producers of wines and spirits in the Republic of Moldova. We have a complete production cycle — from growing grapes in our own vineyards to bottling — controlling quality at every stage.
Our vineyards
We cultivate over 700 hectares of our own vineyards in two of the most valuable wine regions of Moldova — Ștefan Vodă and Valul lui Traian, both with Protected Geographical Indication. We grow international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the local variety Rara Neagră, contributing to the preservation of the local wine heritage.
The cellars of Ciorescu
Our wines mature in the underground galleries of Ciorescu — a former limestone quarry transformed into a winery. At a constant temperature of 12–14°C and humidity of 97–98% throughout the year, the underground environment provides ideal conditions for the slow transformation of the must into wine, without additional equipment.
